<p><strong>Ability/Kemampuan</strong></p>
<p><em>Can</em> sering digunakan untuk menunjukkan kemampuan. Contoh: &#8220;We can speak English&#8221;, atau &#8220;He can sing well.&#8221;</p>

<p><strong>Singkatan </strong></p>
<p>Cannot dan can&#8217;t adalah kata yang sama: misal:<br />
- I <em>cannot</em> cook well<br />
- I <em>can&#8217;t</em> cook well<br />
<em>Can&#8217;t</em> lebih umum digunakan dalam bahasa Inggris lisan.</p>
<p><strong>Permission/Izin </strong></p>
<p><em>Can</em> juga digunakan untuk menunjukkan izin. Contoh: &#8220;You can go home after class&#8221;. Berikut bentuk Simple Present dari <em>can</em> yang menunjukkan izin.</p>
